Stewardship
All of life is an act of Stewardship, from our first breath to our last. How do we use our days? How do we
use our energies? How do we use the gifts entrusted to us?
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s slogan is, “God’s work. Our hands.” St. Theresa, explained this beautifully as, “Christ has no body on earth but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes with which he looks compassionately on this world. Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good. Yours are the hands with which he blesses all the world… Christ has no body now on earth but yours.”
As people dedicated to God’s purposes, we put all we have and all we are in the service of God, trusting that the Spirit will give us direction and guidance.
We pray we will have a renewed understanding of Stewardship and effectively use every good blessing that God has entrusted to us on our journey of faith.
Recall this offertory prayer: Merciful God, we offer with joy and thanksgiving what you have first given us – ourselves, our time, and our possessions, signs of your gracious love. Receive them for the sake of him who offered himself for us, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Go in peace, serve the Lord! Thanks be to God!
We encourage you to share your gifts and energies with us and to take part in the ministries of the church. See our Time and Talent form available through this link and help us to know your interests by completing the form and dropping it off at the church office or in our offering plate. Thank you.
