Please join us for worship On Sunday, July 5, as we observe the Sixth Sunday After Pentecost, with special prayers and hymns for the Semiquincentennial of the United States of America. We will have one service of Holy Communion at 9am, and we’ll be joined by supply organist, Jackie Kuba.
The mystery of God’s ways is sometimes hidden from the wise and intelligent. The prophet describes an everlasting realm that contrasts with earthly nations, one marked by peace, humility, and freedom. Jesus associates with those excluded from the religious community. Like Paul, we struggle with selfish desires; we lament flawed systems; and we seek God’s mercy and forgiveness. We gather around word, water, and meal by Christ’s invitation: “Come to me, all you that are weary.” Here we find rest for our souls and hope for life in beloved community.

God’s word is like the rain that waters the earth and brings forth vegetation. It is also like the sower who scatters seed indiscriminately. Our lives are like seeds sown in the earth. Even from what appears to be little, dormant, or dead, God promises a harvest. At the Lord’s table we are fed with the bread of life, that we may bear fruit in the world.

Plant a Row will run from Sunday, June 28, through Sunday, October 4. Our collection of fresh garden produce to share with the Nazareth Area Food Bank continues on Sundays throughout the summer. From 8am – 6pm, you may drop of fresh veggies and fruit from your garden in the coolers under the carport. Thanks again to Pam and Ken Kalapay for spearheading this initiative.
Thank you! Our thanks to the large and merry band of volunteers who put on this year’s Strawberry Festival. The balmy and damp late June weather continues to validate our decision to bring things inside, and a lovely time was had by all. Particular thanks to everyone who helped with strawberry prep, who baked for the Festival, and those who volunteered to make things go so smoothly.
July Joyful Giving – The Nazareth Summer Lunch Program: The program is housed in the Nazareth Moravian Church. This program began in 2011 and serves children, seniors, and anyone who is hungry in the Nazareth area. For roughly 11 weeks each summer, volunteers make sandwiches and bag up meals to share with those in need. The food for the program is made possible by donations from community members and local businesses. You can give to the Summer Lunch Program in the basket in the Narthex, on our giving page online, or in our monthly Joyful Giving collection on Sunday, July 26.
