The welcome of baptism is for all God’s children. This baptismal gift sets us free from the power of sin and death. In Sunday’s Gospel, Christ promises that the disciple who gives a cup of cold water to the little ones serves Christ himself. From worship we are sent on our baptismal mission: to serve the little ones of this world and to be a sign of God’s merciful welcome.

Thank you! We had a bit of a perfect storm on Sunday, when an air conditioner unit began to leak into the sanctuary, about an hour before the service. Kathy and Earl are away, as were our usually go-to souls for property issues, so Pastor Spencer got the buckets out, we turned off the AC, and the ushers cordoned off the affected area. After the service, Amanda Steele got out the shop vac, and dried things up. On Monday, Sue Gordon and Karen Krome came to clean the church. It takes a village, even when the village elders are away sometimes! Many thanks to everyone for the teamwork. Thanks, also, to Pam Kalapy for the joyful music-making on Sunday morning. Her vibrant spirit and beautiful playing and singing always greatly enhance our services! Thanks to Ken Kalapay for assembling the finance report for the first quarter. Ken’s way with numbers and narrative is the demonstration of a very special skillset, and it’s always informative and encouraging to read his reports. Thanks to everyone who turned out for Young at Heart’s brown bag lunch and visit with Officer Justin Schippang and Romeo from K9 Unit of the Colonial Regional Police. It was very informative and entertaining! Finally, thanks to everyone who showed up and assisted with VBS Crafts Night – we are in full swing for preparation for this year’s offering. Strawberry Festival, June 28: This year’s Festival will be held in our air-conditioned Fellowship Hall (the new units barely blink at hot temperatures!), and will feature music by The Majestics. We’re seeking donations of baked goods and items for the tricky tray. The Festival will be from 4-9pm.
June Joyful Giving – Loaves and Fishes: The Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen expresses the love of Jesus Christ by serving those persons living in Bath, Nazareth and the surrounding communities of Northampton County who are hungry. In conjunction with several churches in Nazareth and Bath, this soup kitchen offers meals every Saturday. You can give to Loaves and Fishes in the basket in the Narthex, on our giving page online, or in our monthly Joyful Giving collection, this Sunday.
VBS registration is open for 2026! Step through the mist into Rainforest Falls, overflowing with wild waterfalls, towering trees and colorful creatures. Beneath a canopy of chattering birds and howling monkeys, kids plunge into a life-long adventure, discovering the nature of God, and exploring what it means to be rooted in relationship with their creator, a safe place in life’s storms. We are in need of many volunteers for a successful week. New this year, volunteers can also sign up through the registration link.

First Quarter Financial Report: Total weekly and special envelope offerings for the three months ending March 31, 2026 were $52,757. This amount was $15,570 below budget but $3,691 more than the prior year first quarter total of $49,066. Although contributions were below budget, it was good news that they were above the prior year. Since Trinity receives contributions unevenly during the year, comparison of first quarter actual contributions with the budget is not necessarily a good indication of projected giving for the year. Comparison of contributions with the prior year is probably a better indicator. As always, I thank everyone for your contributions. Your contributions of time, talent and financial resources make Trinity’s ministries possible.
Phase IV campaign contributions for the first quarter were $11,422. This amount was just $80 below budget. First quarter 2025 contributions were $16,969. The decline in contributions was expected and was primarily due to some campaign pledges being paid off early in prior years.
Although interest rates have declined somewhat from last year, we will continue to maximize our invested cash and expect to earn interest in line with budget.
Expenses were on budget during the first quarter including heating oil and electricity. Trinity is on a budget plan with a cap on the price that we pay for heating oil so we should stay on budget through the second quarter. The cap price for 2026-27 has not yet been determined so the impact on our budget for the rest of 2026 is not yet known.
