Please join us for worship as we observe our namesake, the Holy Trinity, on Sunday, May 31. We’ll have one Service of Holy Communion at 9am.

Though the word Trinity is not found in the scriptures, Sunday’s second reading includes the apostolic greeting that begins the liturgy: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. In the gospel Jesus sends his disciples forth to baptize in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. More than a doctrine, the Trinity expresses the heart of our faith: we have experienced the God of creation made known in Jesus Christ and with us always through the Holy Spirit. We celebrate the mystery of the Holy Trinity in word and sacrament, as we profess the creed, and as we are sent into the world to bear witness to our faith.

Follow this link to the online bulletin if you’re joining us for the 9am Livestream.

Thank You:  Many thanks to all the stalwart souls who braved Saturday’s washout and still helped with Mulch Day.  The grounds are looking much improved, and we’re grateful for all, including our Scout Troop, for their hard work!  Thanks also to the members of our Music Ministry to took a valedictory Pentecost lap on Sunday – their hard-won summer hiatus has now begun.  We’re grateful for your wonderful singing and ringing.  Thanks also to Bron and Nancy Sheriff and Warner and Jemmie Jones for agreeing to serve as shepherds to our new members, who we gratefully received, this past Sunday:  Roger Brazinski, William and Janice Steele, and Alexis Hier, Jared Berevino, and Jack.  Finally, congratulations and prayerful best wishes to Kaiden Steele, whose father baptized on Sunday, as well.  As predicted, it was a very full service, but also a very lovely one!

Calling Graduates: If your child (or grandchild) is graduating from high school, college, or trade school, and is a member of our congregation, we’d love to share their good news in the Weekly.  Please email the office (trinityhecktown@gmail.com) with the following information:

  1. Their name.
  2. The school from which they are graduating.
  3. Any special honors/activities they’d like to share.
  4. What’s next (college, grad school, a job)?
  5. If you’d like to include a photo, that’d be magnificent.

We will share info about the graduates as they’re received by the office.  Many thanks!

Young at Heart: On Tuesday, June 23, we’ll be visited by the Officer Schippang of the Colonial Regional Police K9 Unit, as well as one of his charges, to discuss/demonstrate how K9 units assist with investigations.  Attendees are asked to bring a brown bag lunch.  The event will begin at noon.  Please RSVP to Kathy.

A sign-up is available for our annual outing to the Iron Pigs, which will take place on Sunday, July 12. The gates open at 12pm, food starts at 1pm (and runs to 3:30), the game starts at 1:30. We’ll be on the Party Porch.  The cost of the tickets will be $40 which includes the game, food, and drinks.  Please sign up by May 31 when all money is due.  Checks may be made available to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Thank you!

Strawberry Festival, June 27: This year’s Festival will be held in our air-conditioned Fellowship Hall (the new units barely blink at hot temperatures!), and will feature music by The Majestics.  We’re seeking donations of baked goods and items for the tricky tray.  For more information, please see Kathy Sigley.  The Festival will be from 4-9pm.

May Joyful Giving – Pink Heals:  Pink Heals is a program that partners with public safety organizations, local businesses, and families to bring the community together. The organization provides home visits to show individuals that they are loved, cherished, and important to others. You may give in the basket in the Narthex, on the Vanco app, or on the giving page of our website.  We will also receive a collection at the 9am service on May 31.
