Please join us for worship on Sunday – we’ll have two services of Holy Communion this week, at 8 and 10:30am, with fellowship time at 9, and Sunday School and Adult Bible Study at 9:15. The 10:30 service will be livestreamed. We’ll be recognizing our Sunday School Staff at the late service on Sunday (the countdown to our last Sunday continues – the Sunday School year concludes on Sunday, May 17).
As we continue to celebrate the fifty days of Easter, Sunday’s gospel includes Jesus’ promise that he goes to prepare a place for his followers in his Father’s house. Our baptism commissions us to share Jesus’ mission in the world. As 1 Peter reminds us, we are a holy people, called to proclaim the one who called us out of darkness into light. In words and deeds we bear witness to the risen Christ—our way, our truth, our life.
Follow this link to the online bulletin if you’re joining us for the 10:30am Livestream.
Sunday School News and Thanks: On Sunday, we will recognize the work of our Sunday School Staff, who have been assiduously volunteering their time and considerable talents throughout the program year (since September), and whose work will come to a close in a few weeks. They are most ably led by April Phares, and they’ve had a banner year – it has been so heartening to see so many of our young ones attending Sunday School each week. For the generous sacrifice of their time, and for the love with which they share the word and grace of God with their students, we offer our profound and heartfelt thanks!
PreK and K: Alison Zavatone, Peyten Carr, and Amanda Steele
1st, 2nd, and 3rd: Lori Peck, Sue Gordon, and Elyn Milheim
4th, 5th, and 6th: Melissa Boandl
Confirmation: Pastor Steele.
We are seeking more teachers for next year, particularly for grades 4, 5, and six. If you’re interested, please speak with April Phares or contact the Parish Office and we’ll put you in touch.
We will continue to celebrate our Sunday School (and our moms) as the Sunday School students will sing in worship next Sunday May 10, at the 10:30am service.
VBS registration is open for 2026! Step through the mist into Rainforest Falls, overflowing with wild waterfalls, towering trees and colorful creatures. Beneath a canopy of chattering birds and howling monkeys, kids plunge into a life-long adventure, discovering the nature of God, and exploring what it means to be rooted in relationship with their creator, a safe place in life’s storms. We are in need of many volunteers for a successful week. New this year, volunteers can also sign up through the registration link.

Thank You: Thank you to the enormous group of volunteers who have spent the week sorting and pricing the record amount of donations for this weekend’s Rummage Sale. This is such a labor of love, emphasis on both words. The beneficiaries of this year’s sale are most worthy – Visions of Eagles, a local helping non-profit, Pink Heals (about whose work you may read below), and our church’s benevolence portfolio, which includes our mission giving to the ELCA. We will share a wrap-up, next week. Thanks also to Pam Brown, Dick Towne, and Betty Flyte, who now rest from their rotation on the Altar Guild for the month of April (which included Holy Week and Easter). This was also a labor of love! Our thanks to the lovely Marano ladies, who take up the mantle for May.
May Joyful Giving – Pink Heals: Pink Heals is a program that partners with public safety organizations, local businesses, and families to bring the community together. The organization provides home visits to show individuals that they are loved, cherished, and important to others. You may give in the basket in the Narthex, on the Vanco app, or on the giving page of our website. We will also receive a collection at the 9am service on May 31.
All of the rest of this week’s announcements can be found in our Weekly Email. Please follow this link for the most recent message and an archive of past installments. The Weekly is published on Thursdays, by noon. Please follow this link if you’d like to sign up for our communications.
