Please join us for worship, fellowship, and Christian Education this Sunday, April 13, as we observe Palm/Passion Sunday. We’ll have a service of Holy Communion at 8am, followed by fellowship at 9, Sunday School at 9:15, and a second Service of Holy Communion at 10:30, in the sanctuary and online. We enter Holy Week with jubilation and journey with Christ to the cross. Much is planned to make that journey as meaningful as possible, and to give God great glory. This is the holiest week of the Christian year. Join us!
On Sunday, we follow Christ from triumphal entry to the cross, each waypoint of the journey marked by Jesus’ compassion for those who would betray, mock, accuse, or do violence to him. Though persecuted and beaten, Jesus the Son of God is not disgraced; instead, he asks forgiveness for those who put him to death. We have walked the Lenten pathway these forty days, each of us invited through baptism to “let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus.” We enter this holy week accompanying Jesus to the cross with both grief and thanksgiving in our hearts, trusting in God’s redeeming love.

Thank you! Thanks to everyone who turned out for our Young at Heart Easter Party, with particular thanks to Kathy Sigley for organizing the event. A wonderful afternoon was had by all. Thanks also to Pastor Spencer and Amanda Steele and the Carr Family for preparing over a thousand Easter eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt (details above). This weekend, the Altar Guild will meet on Saturday to prepare the sanctuary for Palm Sunday, our Congregational Council will have a retreat, and the Festival Choir returns to sing on Sunday. Many thanks to all these good folk who have been helping us prepare for Holy Week, Easter, and in the governance of our congregation.
