Please join us for worship, fellowship, and Christian Education this Sunday, March 23, as we observe The Third Sunday in Lent.  We’ll have a service of Holy Communion at 8am, followed by fellowship at 9, Sunday School at 9:15, and a second Service of Holy Communion at 10:30, in the sanctuary and online.  This Sunday is the deadline for sponsoring Easter flowers and music, please return your forms on Sunday morning!

Though we sometimes doubt and often resist God’s desire to protect and save us, our God persists. In holy baptism, God’s people have been called and gathered into a God-initiated relationship that will endure. Lent provides the church with a time and a tradition in which to seek God’s face again. Lent provides another occasion to behold the God of our salvation in the face of the Blessed One who “comes in the name of the Lord.”

Thank you: Many thanks to the members of our Hospitality Committee, led by Kathy Sigley, for putting on a lovely funeral luncheon for Diana Berger.  Thanks, also, to everyone who turned out to support Diana’s family in their grief and to commend her to the love of our merciful Savior.  Thanks also to those who made soup and brought savories for Wednesday’s Midweek Lenten Supper.  The excellent start with which we began continues.

March Joyful Giving:  Food for the Poor is one of the largest international relief and development organizations in the United States that ministers to the poorest of the poor in primarily 17 countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. By providing lifesaving food, secure housing, clean water, healthcare, emergency relief, micro-enterprise projects and education opportunities, they are giving the poor a chance at a better future, and showing them God’s love. You can learn more about Food for the Poor by clicking here.

Please note that we’ll have a Joyful Giving offering at the beginning of the services on Sunday, March 30.  You may also give in the basket in the Narthex, on the Vanco app or on the giving page of our website.

Easter Sponsorships: It’s time to arrange flower and music sponsorships for Easter!  Please find forms either in the Narthex or in the linked below, and return to the parish office with your payment by this Sunday, March 23. We’re seeking sponsors for specific flowers, as you’ll see on the form, and also those who would like to make a more general gift to help fund supplies and additional floral items for Holy Week, and also our Easter Sunday trumpeter.  As always, depending on how the plants grow, we may have to make some substitutions.  Many thanks for your patience and flexibility!
