Please also join us for worship, fellowship, and Christian Education this Sunday, March 16, as we observe The Second Sunday in Lent We’ll have a service of Holy Communion at 8am, followed by fellowship at 9, Sunday School at 9:15, and a second Service of Holy Communion at 10:30, in the sanctuary and online.
Though we sometimes doubt and often resist God’s desire to protect and save us, our God persists. In holy baptism, God’s people have been called and gathered into a God-initiated relationship that will endure. Lent provides the church with a time and a tradition in which to seek God’s face again. Lent provides another occasion to behold the God of our salvation in the face of the Blessed One who “comes in the name of the Lord.”

In Memoriam – Diana Berger: Our deep sympathy to the family and friends of Diana Berger, who entered into eternal life this past Sunday. Her funeral will be held here at Trinity on Wednesday, March 19. Visitation will be from 9-11am, and the Service of Christian Burial will begin at 11. May she and all the faithful departed rest in peace. You may follow this link to her obituary.
Thank you: Thanks to all who turned out for this year’s observance of Ash Wednesday – particularly those who showed up very early in the morning for Drive-Through Ashes, including Pastor Spencer. Lent is off to a good start at Trinity! A huge shout-out of gratitude to Katie and Andy Carr for manning the helm of this year’s Spaghetti Dinner. A delightful, delicious time was had by all! Finally, thanks for everyone who turned out for this week’s inaugural Midweek Lenten Supper and Service. We had three delicious soups to choose from, lovely bread, cheese, and a salad. Pastor Spencer got us underway in a Lenten series that he devised, called “Christ Condemned.” We had a magnificent group – midweek gatherings in Lent are always such a blessing!
March Joyful Giving: Food for the Poor is one of the largest international relief and development organizations in the United States that ministers to the poorest of the poor in primarily 17 countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. By providing lifesaving food, secure housing, clean water, healthcare, emergency relief, micro-enterprise projects and education opportunities, they are giving the poor a chance at a better future, and showing them God’s love. You can learn more about Food for the Poor by clicking here.
Please note that we’ll have a Joyful Giving offering at the beginning of the services on Sunday, March 30. You may also give in the basket in the Narthex, on the Vanco app or on the giving page of our website.
Easter Sponsorships: It’s time to arrange flower and music sponsorships for Easter! Please find forms either in the Narthex or in the linked below, and return to the parish office with your payment by Sunday, March 23. We’re seeking sponsors for specific flowers, as you’ll see on the form, and also those who would like to make a more general gift to help fund supplies and additional floral items for Holy Week, and also our Easter Sunday trumpeter. As always, depending on how the plants grow, we may have to make some substitutions. Many thanks for your patience and flexibility!
Join us for soup and bread in a communal meal each week at 6pm. Here we will share the bounty that God provides us with one another in much the way that Jesus and his disciples did in their daily lives. We will support one another in our Christian faith and Lenten practice with fellowship and community. This will be immediately followed by Midweek Lenten worship service. This year we will be looking at Christ Condemned: the Prosecution of Jesus.
