Please join us for worship, fellowship, and Christian Education this Sunday, March 2, as we observe The Transfiguration of Our Lord. We’ll have a service of Holy Communion at 8am, followed by fellowship at 9, Sunday School at 9:15, and a second Service of Holy Communion at 10:30, in the sanctuary and online. The 10:30 service will be a particular treat this week: our Sunday School students will be taking on leadership roles in the service, Pam Kalapay will be on hand with her guitar and whistle, and we’ll be recognizing our Boy Scouts. This is the last Sunday before Lent, and we’re going to make it a particularly joyful one!
Witnesses to the glory of God in the face of Jesus reflect that glory in the world. It was true for Moses. It was doubtless true for Peter, James, and John. We pray that it will be true of all of us who see God’s glory in the word and in the supper and who are being “transformed into the same image” by God’s Spirit.

Lent begins this coming week! The season of Lent is a solemn remembrance of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. During this season, it is a church tradition that many abstain from particular foods or enjoyment so that they might prepare their hearts for Good Friday and Easter. This year, may you be so called to deepen your faith and spiritual practice in connection to Christ. Trinity will be offering a number of opportunities to help in that growth.
Lent will begin on March 5, on Ash Wednesday, with the imposition of Ashes at church starting at 7-9am, under the carport. Then at 7:30pm we will have a service of Holy Communion with the imposition of Ashes.
Thank you: The Worship and Music Committee meets quarterly (sometimes more) to assess our worship services and to plan for upcoming feasts and fasts. The committee met this past Tuesday to review the Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany seasons, and to plan for the coming year, including Lent, Holy Week, and Easter. Thanks to the stalwart members of this committee for their excellent in put and support for our liturgical ministries! Thanks, also, to April Phares, her colleagues on the staff, and the Sunday School students for their preparation for this Sunday’s 10:30am Service. We’re delighted to see our young ones in leadership roles.
Join us for soup and bread in a communal meal each week at 6pm. Here we will share the bounty that God provides us with one another in much the way that Jesus and his disciples did in their daily lives. We will support one another in our Christian faith and Lenten practice with fellowship and community. This will be immediately followed by Midweek Lenten worship service. This year we will be looking at Christ Condemned: the Prosecution of Jesus.
