Please join us for worship, fellowship, and Christian Education this Sunday, February 16, as we observe The Sixth Sunday after Epiphany. We’re going to try again after last Sunday’s inclement weather! We’ll have a service of Holy Communion at 8am, followed by fellowship at 9, Sunday School at 9:15, and a second Service of Holy Communion at 10:30, in the sanctuary and online. At both services, we’ll install our Congregational Council. We’ve postponed our recognition of our Boy Scouts until Sunday, March 2. The Sundays of February are all a continuation of the Epiphany season – let us look for and share in the light of Christ!
Blessings and curses abound on the sixth Sunday after Epiphany. We would do well to listen closely to whom the “blessed ares” and the “woe tos” are directed and to find our place in the crowd among those who desire to touch Jesus. The risen Christ stands among us in the mystery of the holy supper with an invitation to live in him, and offers power to heal us all.

Thank you: Thanks to everyone who came out for Young at Heart’s game day, on Tuesday. Pizza was shared, bingo was played, a good time had by all! Thanks to Kathy Sigley for arranging the afternoon! YarnWorks was also on hand for fellowship and needle crafts. We were happy to fit these two activities in before the snow.
February Joyful Giving: Second Harvest Food Bank. In 1982, this food bank emerged from the work of the Community Action Committee of Lehigh Valley (CACLV) and a network of 15 organizations in Lehigh and Northampton counties. Today, Second Harvest serves 200 agencies in a six-county area, distributing 11.8 million pounds of food to over 60,000 people (over half being children and seniors). From the beginning, the goal has been to distribute food to those in need and be a part of the elimination of waste in the food industry as they seek donations of unsaleable, but edible products from local companies. For every $1 of your donation to Second Harvest, they are able to serve 6 meals to our neighbors in need. To support this important ministry through our February Joyful Giving you may either place your offering in the Joyful Giving plate at the back of the church, give online on the church’s giving portal, or give when we take the Joyful Giving offering at both services on February 23.
