Please join us for worship, fellowship, and Christian Education this Sunday, December 15, The Third Sunday of Advent: Gaudete Sunday. We’ll have a service of Holy Communion at 8am, followed by fellowship at 9, Sunday School at 9:15, and a second Service of Holy Communion with the Sunday School Christmas Program at 10:30, in the sanctuary and online. The little ones will be offering a song as the program begins, and Pam Kalapay will be on hand with her guitar and whistle to enhance the service. “Gaudete” means to rejoice, and this Sunday’s service will be full of expectant joy! After the 10:30am service, youth may join us for our annual Gingerbread Decorating.
Christ’s presence in our midst in the wonder of the holy supper is cause for singing. The nearness of the God in prayer, in every circumstance, is cause for rejoicing. The coming of one “more powerful” than John, even with a winnowing fork in hand, is good news—and cause for exultation—for us who are being saved. Great joy is the tone for the third Sunday of Advent.

Thank you! Thank you to the Christian Education Committee for hosting this year’s Breakfast with Santa, with particular thanks to Santa, himself! A delightful time was had by all! Thank you to a lengthy list of Sunday School Christmas Program participants, who have been preparing for this coming Sunday’s offering during the service! Also, many thanks to all of the souls helping behind the scenes to plan and prepare for Christmas. The resplendence of Christmas at Trinity doesn’t happen without countless folks from Christmas decorators and Altar Guild members, to Music Ministry Participants, from flower sponsors to ushers and assisting ministers, and the lovely souls who will fold hundreds of bulletins. As the big Natal Day grows closer, our celebrations are coming into focus, and we’re so very grateful to all who offer their time, talent, and treasure to make this such a meaningful and lovely time of the year, all to God’s glory!
