Please join us for worship, fellowship, and Christian Education this Sunday, December 1, The First Sunday of Advent.  We’ll have a service of Holy Communion at 8am, followed by fellowship at 9, Sunday School at 9:15, and a second Service of Holy Communion with Holy Baptism at 10:30, in the sanctuary and online.

Advent is about the “coming days.” God’s people have always lived in great expectation, but that expectation finds specific, repeated enunciation in the texts appointed for these four weeks. The ancients anticipated a “righteous Branch to spring up for David.” The Thessalonians awaited “the coming of our Lord Jesus with all the saints.” Jesus’ contemporaries hoped for the time “to stand before the Son of Man.” With them we eagerly await the coming days: another Christmas celebration, a second coming, and the advent of Christ in word and supper.

Thank you!  Many thanks to our YarnWorks members, who sold their beautiful wares, and to those who supported the sale.  YarnWorks raised $504 for Lutheran Disaster Response.  Thanks to everyone involved, and thanks be to God!  Thanks, also, to Pam Brown, Betty Flyte, and Dick Towne, who finished their November Altar Guild rotation.  November was a colorful month, and we’re grateful to them for their work in keeping the altar ready to go for our many worship services.

Congratulations and welcome to our newest members, the Diefenderfer and Wargo Families, whom we received into membership at the 10:30am service, last Sunday.  We are blessed to have you among us!

Christmas Decorating:  It’s almost that time!  Please join us on Saturday morning, December 14, beginning at 9am, as we adorn the sanctuary for Christmas.  Many hands make light work!
