Please join us for worship, fellowship, and Christian Education this Sunday, November 17, the Twenty-Sixth Sunday after Pentecost.  We’ll have a service of Holy Communion at 8am, followed by fellowship at 9, Sunday School at 9:15, and a second Service of Holy Communion at 10:30, in the sanctuary and online. Both services will include prayers for healing, and we will receive a special offering for Lutheran Disaster Response.

November begins with All Saints Day and ends in or near Advent, when we anticipate Christ’s coming again. It is fitting, then, that the readings today tell of the final resurrection and the end time. In the turmoil of hope, fear, and disbelief that these predictions provoke in us, Hebrews sounds a note of confident trust. Christ makes a way for us where there is no way, and we walk it confidently, our hearts and bodies washed in baptismal water, trusting the one who has promised forgiveness. The more we see the last day approaching, the more important it is to meet together to provoke one another to love.

Thank you!  Many thanks to all of our intrepid Helping Hands volunteers, chief among them the Setzer Family and Pat Arndt Hartzell, for preparing and putting on Sunday’s tremendously successful Purse Bingo.  We’ve seen lots of pics on social media, full of happy faces, and are elated to report that $6,259.12 was raised for the church.  Thanks to the volunteers and the committee, and thanks to all who came out for a wonderful afternoon.  Thanks also to Pam Kalapay for enhancing our worship with her beautiful instrumental and vocal offerings at the 10:30am service.  We’re so lucky to have someone so generous with her talents among us!

Reception of New Members:  We are going to receive new members on Sunday, November 24.  If you’re interested in membership, or know someone who is, please speak with Pastor Spencer.

Poinsettia Orders: We’re going to procure our flowers from Filchner’s Plants and Produce, details are included on the form linked below. The firm deadline is Sunday, November 17.  We have also included a proviso on the form stating that we will do our best to honor the preferences for color reflected on the order, but because of vagaries in the growing process, our provider sometimes needs to make substitutions.  The plants are always of the highest quality, but we want everyone to know that occasionally substitutions are made, and we thank you in advance for your patience.  Printed forms are also available in the Narthex.

Please follow this link to the order form.  Again, the FIRM DEADLINE is November 17.
