Please join us for worship, fellowship, and Christian Education this Sunday, November 10, the Twenty-Fifth Sunday after Pentecost.  We’ll have a service of Holy Communion at 8am, followed by fellowship at 9, Sunday School at 9:15, and a second Service of Holy Communion at 10:30.  There will be no livestream, this week.  Our videographer is away.  Pam Kalapay will be on hand at the 10:30am service, to add to the musical festivities! Following the 10:30 am service is our annual Purse Bingo.  Tickets will be available at the door.

Widows are visible everywhere in Sunday’s readings. Jesus denounces those scribes who pray impressive prayers but devour widows’ houses. He commends the poor widow who in his view gave far more than the major donors. Jesus doesn’t see her simply as an object of compassion or charity. She, like the widow of Zarephath who shares her last bit of food with Elijah, does something of great importance.

Thank you!  Many thanks to the members of our Music Ministry for their beautiful offerings on this past Sunday, for All Saints Sunday. The liturgies were powerful and grace-filled.   Thanks also to all who turned out for the Blessing of the Animals, with thanks to Alicia Schwartz for the photo shared to the right.  Thanks, too, to Pastor Spencer, who had a very long day on Sunday, leading three liturgies and blessing several pets!

Poinsettia Orders: It’s time to begin placing orders for Christmas poinsettias!  We’re going to procure our flowers from Filchner’s Plants and Produce, details are included on the form linked below. The firm deadline is Sunday, November 17.  We have also included a proviso on the form stating that we will do our best to honor the preferences for color reflected on the order, but because of vagaries in the growing process, our provider sometimes needs to make substitutions.  The plants are always of the highest quality, but we want everyone to know that occasionally substitutions are made, and we thank you in advance for your patience.  Printed forms are also available in the Narthex.

Please follow this link to the order form.  Again, the FIRM DEADLINE is November 17.

All of the rest of this week’s announcements can be found in our Weekly Email.  Please follow this link for the most recent message and an archive of past installments.  The Weekly is published on Thursdays, by noon.
